The modern world comes with an incredible range of possibilities, challenges and, let’s not forget, with a wide selection of responsibilities. Are we ready to face them all, to deal with them all? The fact is that this modern world is overwhelming and therefore, we tend to get tired, weak and stressed. But is there a solution to all these effects of the modern world?
Undoubtedly, meditation is the one that can reduce best all these aspects of a busy, dynamic and active lifestyle, a lifestyle that implies, besides all the successes and satisfactions, an additional package of worries and, of course, stress.
Creating a Compensatory World with the Help of Meditation
So, we started from the fact that nowadays, the world is busy, overwhelming and, in addition, very, very fast. We are all running, we are all trying to keep up with life’s dynamic rhythm. So, how can meditation help? Simply. Meditation comes as a simple and efficient salvation that allows us to detach from the fast and demanding real world.
Let’s think that meditation somehow creates a compensatory world, an imaginary world that is created by us and it is created the way we like it. Our meditation world can be anything, from a vision, a fantasy, a trip to a place we love – or, why not, a trip to home, an introspection into our souls and minds, an analysis of a concept and whatever else it might bring us peace. How many often do we get the chance to do all these things in our real life? Not enough – and this is precisely why we need meditation. Analyzed from this perspective, meditation implies developing a better spiritual and intellectual life, it implies imagining, visualizing, creating - but creativity and imagination are not the only advantages or benefits of meditation.
A Better Psychological and Physical Life
The modern world affects us at a psychological level. How? We tend to develop anxiety, frustration, complexes and, even worse, depression. And the good news is that meditation can fight against all these. Besides, meditation helps is lose our increased irritability, gain emotional stability, a good mood and a general peace of mind. More understanding and tolerance towards the world are other psychological benefits of meditation that can help us develop a healthier and more positive relationship with the others.
The physical or health-related benefits of meditation can not be neglected either. In fact, most individuals find them the most relevant ones. But what health problems can be improved by meditating? The scientific and experimental facts show that meditation has a great role in accelerating the metabolism, improving the skin and its resistance, dropping the cholesterol and cortisol, decreasing high blood pressure, decreasing the aging process and improving the breathing problems, as a result of the breathing exercises. In general, meditating implies, above all these, the desire for a healthier lifestyle, a lifestyle that can only affect our health in a positive way.
As shown above, the benefits of meditation do not simply reflect at a single level – meditation is a process that affects us entirely and that presents gains at multiple levels: the psychological level, the spiritual level, the health/body level and the intellectual level.

Someone wiser than me said that taking on the practice of meditation is not so much adding something to your life, but rather removing things, obstacles to you awareness.
This is definitely in line with the point of the video. Myself included, (it seems) most of us are constantly trying to find ways to keep ourselves operating at a faster, more productive, more focused pace. Like turning up the volume on the stereo when we want to hear more clearly, we try and will ourselves to focus harder as well as amp our brains' ability to focus by taking stimulants like coffee. The kind of improvement that meditation provides isn't so much like this- instead, it's like hearing more clearly by walking into a quieter room.
For me, meditation has turned down the loud mind chatter offering up all kinds of activities that are different from what I'm trying to do in the moment, improving focus in a subtle but effective way.
There are several other health benefits, which are outside the scope of this video, but I don't much like that meditation is presented as a panacea nowadays. It has vast benefits, and I'm sure anyone would benefit from it, but I like Dan Harris's non-overpromising remark that it makes him 10% Happier

Many scientific studies have shown that meditation physically affects our body and brain function. It has been found to improve concentration, focus, empathy, memory, vitality and emotional processing and decreases feelings of stress, fatigue, depression, anxiety and fear. Meditation improves your immune system and helps your body to function at its optimal level.
Meditating daily makes a massive difference in life. It helps to slow things down in this fast paced society, it helps you to find balance and look within and then go out into the world with those feelings of clarity.
Meditation helps you to go from an average existence to an exceptional one.
When you experience expanded awareness and the feeling of calm stillness, at the same time as feeling happy and joyous, it is a blissful day, a sensational year, an extraordinary life :).
All interactions seem quite remarkable, life seems to hold a special meaning and purpose for you and relationships are peaceful, happy and loving, especially the relationship with yourself.
This is not to say that you won't experience challenges in your life, however, the perspective you gain and the peace you experience, helps you to FEEL differently about any challenges you may face.
Meditation is the little step every day toward for filling your potential, looking after yourself and being an awesome inspiration for others to do the same.
We wish with all our hearts to assist you in your meditation journey and although the actual time spent in meditation can be frustrating at first, the results that ensue when practised regularly, will make the world of difference to you feeling great about life.

What really happens when you Meditate? | See the benefits and how to Meditate
What are the benefits of meditation?
Why do you need to meditate?
In this video we say how meditation can improve your health and change your life. With these meditation techniques and supporting tools like meditation music, you will feel at calm and gain the benefits.
The idea of meditation is to focus one’s mind, performed as a method of relaxation or for a spiritual purpose.
Many today don’t really know what meditating is or the benefits it can have on a person’s mental health.
The origins of meditation:
Meditation (or Dhyan) has roots that go back to thousands of years linked to Vedic traditions in the Indian subcontinent. It has a history of being a part of the Hinduism and has a close relationship to Yoga.
It has been adopted and has evolved over the course of time as Hinduism evolved and other religions, notably Buddhism, came into prominence.
Meditation also has many benefits for our health:
Reduces Stress
Promotes Emotional Health
Helps manage Depression, Anxiety and Sleeping Disorders
Gives positive outlook on life
Improves Self Image
Improves Concentration
Improves Memory
Helps Fight Addictions
Helps Control Pain
How Do You Meditate:
1) Find a Place to Meditate: Ideally, you want to find a quiet place where you will be left in peace to help focus.
2) Sit With a Good Posture: Traditionally people meditate by sitting cross legged on the floor, but if this isn’t possible you can sit in a chair. You will want to ensure you sit with good posture and upright, as this can help you concentrate.
3) Relax Your Breathing: When meditating, you want to breathe deeply but naturally, as it shouldn’t be the point of your focus yet should help you relax.
4) Clear Your Mind: During meditation it’s important to help clear and relax the mind. The focus should be internal, without distraction from the external environment. One method to do this is to maintain focus in the spot between your eyebrows.
5) Set a Timer: Initially, it might be good to set a time period to meditate. It might just be 2 minutes, but it helps you stay focused for just that period of time without letting external forces distract you.

Meditation & Fitness: Scientific Benefits of Meditating- Thomas DeLauer… Everyone likes to create content surrounding the world of meditation. And I think they do it because it makes them sound smart, but the reality is meditation is a powerful thing, but let's talk about how it's really working within the body. Here's the big problem that we face. Most of the studies that are out there surrounding the world of meditation are very subjective. They take a look at the masses, but they take a look at an overall end result. And sometime this can lead to us wondering, Is this truly a physiological change or is it just the kind of people that meditate tend to have this kind of response?
Now before I go any further, I do want to make sure if you haven't already, hit that subscribe button so you can get three to five videos per week. But also, if you're already a subscriber, turn on that little bell so you can turn on notifications, so you know whenever I post a video.
So you see what I mean by this, when I'm talking about meditation, is since most of the studies are looking at input and output, what ends up happening after someone meditates, it makes it really, really hard to determine if there's really a change happening within the body. What I mean by that is maybe, just maybe, the kinds of people that are meditating are different kinds of people that would be more receptive to a change. Or maybe they're the kind of people that are more receptive to a change and the fact that they, as soon as they start implementing some kind of different strategy within their life or exercising a different form of discipline, they start having different changes. Now, a lot of the studies really back this up in terms of what can happen when someone starts meditating, but maybe it's just a better practice for life.
Now, I'm trying to look at this in a completely unbiased way because I truly am someone that meditates, but I also wonder myself if I'm doing myself good or if I'm just one of the people that has a specific regimen within my life that makes me a little bit more focused. But to back up what I'm saying right now let me give you a couple of studies. Then I'm going to dive into the actual science, into the actual research, from some new studies that are starting to show some really emerging interesting things as far as brain density and gray matter goes.
So this first study was published in the JAMA Internal Medicine journal. And it took a look at 47 different studies, it's what's called a meta-study where they look at multitudes of studies over a period of time. There is overall 3,515 participants in this meta-study, and what they found in this analysis is that those that meditate ended up having lower levels of anxiety, lower levels of depression and lower levels of pain, markedly. So what we can conclude from this is that perhaps maybe the people that meditate are better at managing these things within their life. But it doesn't necessarily mean that meditation triggered it. Where's the cause and effect?
The other study that I want to reference was published in the journal of the Frontiers of Immunology. It took a look at 18 different studies with 846 participants over the course of 11 years. I love studies like this because they look at a wide spectrum of things they look at things throughout different technological advances, they look at things through different advances in our cultures and different mindsets in general.

In this one, Cole talks about some of the benefits of practicing meditation on a regular basis. Well, it's not if you breathe you can benefit from meditation as well! You also don't have to practice it for hours to see benefits as well, just 10 minutes a day can make a difference!

Many of us attempt to retrain our mind by reading more books, taking classes or embracing better habits. These practices work in the short term (and are beneficial) but fail to get at the truth. We have found that true happiness is uncovered when you transform the way you experience yourself and the world around you.
We have experienced many powerful awakenings in our own lives over the years into states of connection, universal intelligence and oneness. This is why we founded O&O Academy, a philosophy and meditation school in India, and have led millions from disconnection to connection, from stress to beautiful inner states and from despair to purpose.
The new Breathing Room app is a tool to help you live a more beautiful, calm and present life
• Our unique style of guided flow meditations use somatic and sensory cues to help your mind stay engaged. This allows the body to relax, connect and awaken into a state of greater calm and inspiration.
• From this state, life feels joyful and effortless. Opportunities begin to flow into your life with ease. Strangers become friends and supporters. You no longer feel stuck because your intuition is awake.
• Breathing Room is your guide to unlocking the awesome potential of human consciousness. Ask yourself: what would it mean to experience life in a completely different way?

What happens to your body when you meditate every morning
Meditation has been around for centuries up until now, mainly because of its glorious benefits.
What’s more, those benefits can be heightened if you actually meditate every morning. Awesome, isn't it?
Two of the top perks of meditating daily is that it boosts your brain activity and makes you feel incredibly relaxed, giving you a great sense of clarity.
Want to know more about these benefits?
We will be talking about more on that and the other good things daily meditation can do to the body. So, stick with us for a few minutes, alright? Here goes:
1. It enhances brain wave activity
When your body’s on meditation mode, your brain releases theta and alpha waves.
Theta waves typically occur when you’re in the deepest stage of dreamless sleep while alpha waves come out when your mind is in an idle state, say when you’re just daydreaming.
So, when your brain activity increases, you will feel like you’re either just sleeping or in your most relaxed state.
2. It puts your body in a deep state of relaxation
Some people say that they’re in the “zen mode.”
Technically, this happens when a person is in an ultimate relaxed state. It is characterized by feeling light, worry-free, and just happy.
Dopamine, also known to release positive vibes, is produced when the body is in pleasurable situations.
And needless to say, meditation is certainly a pleasurable thing to do.
3. It boosts your awareness and mindfulness
If you’re mindful, it means you’re more aware of your actions and thoughts.
For some people, they can have a hard time handling their thoughts, often taking them on a wild ride and making them exhausted.
If you wish to stop that, then meditation is the most natural and effective solution.
4. It reduces stress
Some stress is not necessarily toxic.
Too much of it, however, can be unhealthy if you cannot overcome it.
Meditating every morning can help you with this.
Deep inhales and exhales will refocus your attention, so you can be “at the moment.”
You’d be surprised by how much a simple closing of the eyes and steady breathing can remarkably help.
5. It gives you more control over your emotions
Most people want to be able to control their emotions.
When you’re happy, it’s natural to want to express such emotions.
The same goes for when you’re sad, angry, or grieving.
But people often lose control of their emotions, especially the negative ones.
Meditation helps you react skillfully in stressful circumstances.
6. It gives you a new skill
Believe it or not, meditation is a skill, which means, it takes practice and focus.
Plus, it’s always a good thing to learn more useful skills.
While reading and writing skills helped you in your academic development, this time, meditation skills will help you develop your mind.
Don’t worry, no one can fail at meditating.
You’ve got nothing to lose at all.
Instead, you’re only gaining--and that is a life method that will help your life tremendously.
There are so many other benefits of making meditation a morning routine.
But with all those 6 perks we’ve mentioned, hopefully, you’re now on more than convinced to incorporate this skill in your life.
