How to use Green Tea for Weight Loss: 5 Scientific Benefits
To support our channel and level up your health, check out:
Our Fast Weight Loss Course:
Our Better Health Basics Course:
Today, on the health nerd, we are going to talk about using green tea to lose weight and how to make the best cup of weight loss green tea possible.
Finally, we will talk about a relatively new kind of green tea that’s 3x as effective as regular.
Don’t miss it.
As always, let’s start with the science of how green tea helps you lose weight.
Here are 5 proven weight loss benefits of drinking green tea daily
1. You’ll burn more fat during exercise
There have been quite a few studies showing green tea as a great fat burner for workouts.
In one particular study, participants burned 17% more fat than those taking a placebo.
As stated in our last video, drinking coffee or green tea 30 min pre-workout is ideal for fat burning potential.
2. Green tea contains EGCG and tons of antioxidants
Where green tea really stands out from other drinks is its high level of antioxidants and catechins.
Specifically, one known as EGCG.
This substances has been shown to improve calories burned during the day and are excellent for one’s overall health.
3. Green tea mobilizes fat by improving hormonal levels
EGCG has also been shown to increase levels on noepinephrine.
This hormone is used to signal to fat cells telling them that it’s time to be broken down and used as energy.
This process helps to mobilize fat faster off the body and retain more lean muscle tissue.
4. Green tea helps you lose dangerous visceral fat
Visceral fat also commonly recognized as abdominal fat, is very dangerous and correlated highly with different diseases and even early death.
Green tea has been not only shown to help people lose weight, but lose a little bit more of it around the stomach region.
5. Green tea gives a metabolic boost both short and long term
The combination of EGCG and caffeine seems to have both short term and long term metabolic effects.
In one study of 60 obese individuals, the group taking green tea extract lost 7.3 lbs more pounds and burned 183 more calories per day after 3 months (17).
There are also some other non weight loss benefits of green tea.
It lowers the risk of certain diseases
It lowers the risk of certain cancers. For instance, women who drink green tea are 22% less likely to develop breast cancer.
It may help you live longer. It’s usually a regularly consumed drink by the worlds longest living sub groups of people.
There are 3 Main Ways to consume green tea to lose weight (#3 being the best)
#1. Green tea extract.
This just the herbal derivative from green tea leaves.
The positives of this method seem to be that you get around 25%-50% more antioxidants from the extraction process.
Also, green tea extract commonly comes in pill form. So if you don’t like the taste of green tea or are on the go, it makes things easier.
The drawbacks here are that the body is more likely to absorb nutrients when they are consumed as a liquid vs a pill…
#2. Regular green tea steeped in cup.
To make, bring water to a hot temperature with a microwave or stove and add in a packet of green tea.
Let it sit for 1-3 minutes, stir and enjoy.
The positives of this method is it’s easy to drink AND adds to your daily water intake.
The drawbacks are it takes a little longer to make than taking a pill.
#3. By far the best kind of green tea is Matcha green tea.
Because Matcha tea is made through a special shading process in Japan giving it 3x the amount of EGCG and antioxidants as regular green tea.
It also has a really cool bright green color to it.
The only drawbacks are that it is a little more expensive and time consuming to make.
Since it does not come in a packet, you have to whisk the tea yourself, but with the right tools it’s not that time consuming.
Start by getting in a source of green tea 3x a day for best effects.

Green Tea for Fat Loss: Health Benefits of EGCG- Thomas DeLauer
Green Tea for Fat Loss: Health Benefits of EGCG- Thomas DeLauer:
Use Your Tea Wisely!! I'll show you how and WHY Green Tea does more than you think (and isn't just for hippies). More at
Tea consumption began in Japan and China thousands of years ago. The medicinal value of teas has been recognized in these cultures for centuries, and the benefits are beginning to be supported by science here in the Western culture. Green tea is often at the forefront of the healthy tea family, with matcha green tea leading the way. Matcha green tea is simply finely powdered green tea that was shown in a 2003 study published in the Journal of Chromatography A to have 137 times the catechins as traditional Chinese green tea. Tea has various bioregulatory activities and has been shown to have the following benefits:
-Lowers bad cholesterol
-Improve health of gut flora
-Lowers blood pressure
-Helps with allergies
Catechins found in teas have been found to lead to many of these benefits. Epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) is the main catechin found in green tea. A 2011 study published in Cytotechnology using rats found that the concentration of catechin absorbed when tea was pulverized was twice that of normal tea leaf infusion. The smaller the particle size the greater the concentration of catechins. In the same study plasma absorption levels were measured. There are two types of catechins - ester-type catechins and free-type catechins. The absorption of free-type catechins was greater than that of ester-type catechins. Ester-type catechin plasma levels were greatest in the finest particle size of 2.83 μm. Currently the average matcha particle size is 20 μm, but can range from 1 to 100 μm. Higher quality matcha is smaller, ranging from 5 to 10 μm and lower quality matcha is bigger.
Fine matcha feels similar to baby powder or eye shadow where lower quality matcha will feel grittier. Soy bean and black pepper have been found to increase the bioavailability of EGCG, so have some edamame with pink Himalayan sea salt and ground black pepper while you sip your matcha green tea.

how to maximize green tea amazing health benefits
how to maximize green tea amazing Health benefits. The Chinese have known about Green tea as a powerful medication for at least 4000 years. According to legend, tea was discovered by a Chinese emperor called Shen Nung. Some tea leaves accidentally fell into boiling water, and he tried it and found it invigorating. Green tea became part of the Chinese diet and many important health benefits were attributed to it. Now recent medical studies in both asia and the west are providing a scientific basis for the claim that drinking green tea has very significant health benefits.
0:15 tea 0:30 maximize 0:55 health 1:20 benefits 1:55 amazing Green tea, like black tea is made from the leaves of the plant Camellia sinensis. The difference between the three main types of tea is the way that they are produced. Green tea is unfermented tea meaning that the leaves used for green tea are steamed soon after been plucked in order to prevent the oxidation of the leaves. In this way the leaves remain green and the active substances within the leaves retain their qualities. Black teas on the other hand are made from fermented leaves and as a result have less nutritional and enzyme content as the green tea. Thus green and black teas have different chemical properties.
Modern science has in recent times been able to demonstrate that green tea is beneficial to one’s health and this is mainly due to the fact that tea contains high levels of antioxidants called polyphenols or flavonoids. The antioxidant activity of tea has been compared to that of fruit and vegetables in a number of studies. One study concluded that consuming three cups of tea a day produced a similar amount of antioxidants as eating six apples. Antioxidants help your body fight against free radicals which cause damage to cells and tisuues in your body.
While all tea is healthy to drink, it is green tea that contains the highest level of flavonoids. Recent medical studies suggest green tea to be beneficial in many areas including the following:
-Digestive and respiratory health.
-Lowers cholesterol levels
-Boosts your immune system
-Reduces high blood pressure
-Arthritis – anti-inflammatory effect.
-Oral hygiene – due to antibacterial properties.
-Skin conditions such as acne
-Lowers blood sugar
Weight loss is another area that is attracting huge attention. Recently published research in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that an extract from green tea may speed up fat oxidation. A study was conducted of ten healthy men over a period of 6 weeks. It was discovered that those men who were given green tea extract burned more calories per day than those who were not given the extract. Much more research needs to be conducted in this area but the signs are certainly very encouraging.

well, you could do more harm than good to yourself. Tea is the most consumed drink after water. While most tea lovers prefer to drink black tea, only 20% of the tea-loving population prefer green tea.
Type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. However, the reason for drinking green tea is the belief that it helps with weight loss.
Some Side Effect Of Green Tea You Should Consider!
1. Caffeine sensitivity:
Green tea is not safe for those who are hypersensitive to caffeine. Although the caffeine content of green tea is relatively low, it still causes numerous ailments such as insomnia, irritability, anxiety, nausea, and stomach upset. This time honored plant, consumed by Asian cultures for centuries, packs a powerful punch when it comes to naturally pumping up your brain and body. Green tea is packed with healthy nutrients from amino acids and antioxidants to enzymes. These compounds promote brain health, metabolism, immunity, and energy. It’s an easy addition to your daily routine and gives an all natural mind/body boost to get you off the couch and up your next Spartan Rope Climb and over the Seven Foot Wall!
WHAT WE COVER:
What’s so great about this ancient brew? A lot! It’s not just for your afternoon tea and crumpets. This wonderful plant is chock full of healthy nutrients, antioxidants, and amino acids to help you pre- and post workout.
- Green tea contains some caffeine about 40 mg per cup so it can give you nice boost without overloading you on caffeine and giving you the jitters.
- Why else don’t you get the jitters with green tea? L- theanine. I know, I know, what on earth is that, right? L-theanine is an amino acid found naturally in only a few sources. One, is tea. L-theanine acts synergistically with caffeine and gives you the natural boost you get from caffeine but without the jitters.
- Next up – antioxidants and green tea is full of them. In particular, a group called catechins that help fight free-radicals. This can support your immune system and certainly help during cold and flu season.
- Another important feature of green tea is the anti-inflammatory effect. This can help you post workout with muscle recovery and decrease stress on the body which can promote healing.
- So many superpowers are hidden in this wonderful tea plant. In fact, green tea can help inhibit cavity forming bacteria in the mouth. So, as an added benefit it can keep your breath fresh during those long workouts.
Also remember hot or iced you can reap these health benefits and it will help you stay hydrated.
KEY TERMS & IDEAS:
Green Tea (Camellia sinensis plant) can provide a healthy mind/body boost and has about 40 mg of caffeine per cup.
Another special compound found in few foods other than green tea is the amino acid, L-theanine. It couples with the caffeine and gives you a natural energy lift but not the jitters you get with straight caffeine.
Powerful antioxidant support: green tea is chock full of these and they help neutralize free-radicals which can form during basic metabolism. We all produce free-radicals during exercise and workouts. It’s important to help the body get rid of them.
Anti-inflammatory: green tea can help reduce inflammation which is an important mechanism for muscle repair and recovery
As an added benefit: green tea inhibits oral bacteria that can cause cavities and bad breath. Keeps your mouth fresh during workouts.

How to Use Green Tea to Improve Skin | Skin Care Guide

I love green tea because it's so useful for the skin. It's an anti-inflammatory so that means that it calms down all the stress in your body.
Let's face it. We have very stressful lives and besides the fact that you have stress at work, there's stressors coming out at you from the environment that really affect your body's health: the sun, pollution, even your own mental health affects the health of your body and green tea really calms everything down.
It's great for your circulation and strengthening the capillary walls in your skin, which is great for your healthy glow and it's also good for cellulite.
Another thing that green tea is great for is that it actually helps you to burn calories. Did you guys know that if you drank a cup of green tea every day you'd burn an extra 200 calories a week? I mean, that's amazing. Burning calories just sitting in a chair. I like that.
So I would recommend doing green tea whenever you can, even if it's just one cup a day. Your body will really feel the difference.
