Having a cup of green tea after a meal can aid in digestion. Green tea has been used for thousand of years in Asia as a digestive. All teas come from the same source. The tea plant is a member of the Camellia family (Camellia sinensis). Black tea, oolong tea, and green tea are all derivatives of this one plant. Present research suggests that supplementing with green tea can raise your resting metabolic rate by 3%. In order to get this benefit you must have about 3 glasses a day. If you have a bmr of 2000 or so that means 60 extra calories a day.
Every little bit of help is useful when you’re trying to lose weight or keep your weight stable, as you get older. Diet and exercise are still the most important components of weight loss and maintenance, but studies are showing that tea, particularly green tea, may be able to provide some assistance in losing weight and keeping it off. For centuries, Asians have used green tea for health. In addition to Asian cultures having a much lower incidence of serious diseases such as cancer and heart disease, they also are far less likely to be overweight.
Each day, as we convert food to energy, we create free radicals in our body. These free radicals can damage our cells and our DNA if we don’t combat them. It is believed that unchecked free radicals contribute to the development of many diseases, including cancer. In addition, they speed up the aging process and contribute to clogged arteries and other health problems. Anti-oxidants are powerful at combating free radicals and are linked with preventing cancer, as well as with decreasing your risk of stroke and heart disease and with lowering your cholesterol. For this reason, drinking green tea is a simple and effective way to slow down the aging process and prevent disease. But, in addition to being a way to protect your health, drinking tea seems to also be a way to help keep you slim. If you are in search of the best and the most effective method for reducing weight as well as maintaining it for life, you should add green tea to your daily diet as well as to your lifestyle.

In this video, you will learn how to boost your metabolism and burn more fat!
I do want to make it clear that in order to burn fat, you must be in a caloric deficit.
It does not matter whether you’re Paleo, Vegan, or Pegan,.
Factor #1. Your Personal BMR
Your personal basal metabolic rate is the number of calories you burn just living your normal life.
However, there is one modest way you can control it:
Improving the muscle to fat ratio on your body.
The more muscle and less body fat you have, the more calories you will burn just chilling, so to speak.
So how does one acquire this lean and sexy muscle tissue?
By lifting heavy things.
Doing resistance training is quite helpful for body composition and thus, benefits one’s metabolism.
Also, doing high-intensity circuit training is effective as well.
This form of training will help you build muscle while increasing your metabolic rate even after your workouts are finished.
The choice is personal preference, but if you’re truly trying to maximize fat burning then high-intensity resistance training is best.
Factor #2. The Hormone Insulin
The whole process of proper digestion is almost entirely dependent on the proper release and absorption of insulin.
Too many carbohydrates, particularly the wrong ones, over time leads to insulin resistance and medical conditions like type II diabetes.
Some important steps to take to get more insulin sensitive are:
#1. Eliminating fast acting carbohydrates, like refined grains, flour, and sugar from the diet and managing the overall intake of carbohydrates. #2. Getting proper sleep. The body becomes more insulin sensitive when we get 7-9 hours of sleep so it too effects your metabolism.
#3. Consider using Intermittent Fasting. It has been shown to both increase insulin sensitivity and raise resting metabolic rate by 3-14% during a fast.
We have an entire video for beginners here.
Factor #3. Digestive Enzymes and Gut Bacteria
The problem here is that may people have ruined their healthy gut bacteria and digestive enzymes by eating too many processed foods, consuming too much sugar, and even doing necessary antibiotic rounds that introduce bad kinds of bacteria into the body.
The best ways to fix this are:
You can also take a probiotic and/or digestive enzyme to help your gut out.
Factor #4. The Natural Thermogenesis of Certain Foods.
Some foods have a naturally greater thermogenic effect on the body, meaning the body uses more calories or energy to burn those foods.
Caffeine has been shown to boost the metabolism by 3-11% and promote fat burning.
Some of the best sources of caffeine are black coffee and green tea because of the additional nutrients they provide.
High protein foods like lean meats or fish have shown to have the greatest effect on thermogenesis resulting in a 15-30% increase in metabolic burn.
If you’re one of my many vegan or vegetarian friends the substitute would be a high-quality vegan protein shake as it will have a large concentration of protein.
Things like lentils, beans, and quinoa are great foods, but just don’t have the same concentration of protein as the above and won’t have the same metabolic effects.
Drinking ice cold water has a slightly thermogenic effect increasing metabolism by 10-30% for an hour.
Certain peppers like chilis and mustard has been shown to moderately increase metabolism and fat burning in various studies.
Finally consuming lots of dark and vibrant leafy green vegetables will help because they contain virtually no calories and the body still needs to use heat to processes them.
Making them a quote and off quote “zero calorie food.”

5 Drinks That Speed Up Your Metabolism And Burn Fat Faster
Ever wonder why your friend seems to be able to eat an entire pint of ice cream without gaining a pound, while you eat just a bit and it all goes straight to your belly? The answer, fair or not, is in the metabolism. Metabolism is the rate at which the body burns calories, and much of it is dependent on factors outside of one’s control, like gender (males tend to have higher metabolisms than females), age (after age 40 metabolism decreases about 5% each decade), and the ratio of body muscle to fat, as muscle burns more-calories than fat, even when you’re resting.
Here are 5-drinks that will rev-up your metabolism and help you burn more calories
Organic green-tea is one of the healthiest things you can consume. It contains a high level of antioxidants, including flavonoids and catechins which can reduce the formation of free-radicals to protect cells from damage, and even help prevent disease and premature aging.
Of course, experts say just adding green-tea to your diet isn’t going to help you lose-weight. But if you drink it instead of things like sugary drinks or even diet soda, you’re likely to drop those stubborn pounds.
Organic wheatgrass is a staple at most juice-bars, and there’s a good reason for that. A 1-ounce serving of fresh wheatgrass juice has 5 calories, 1-gram of carbohydrate and 1-gram of protein. It not only helps to boost your metabolism, but it alkalizes the system and is filled with important nutrients like vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, along with iron and minerals like zinc, copper, potassium, manganese, and selenium.
3.Apple Cider Vinegar
First off, we aren’t telling you to drink apple cider vinegar straight – you should never do that as it can burn your esophagus. Instead, simply mix a couple of teaspoons of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with 16-ounces of water, and a little raw honey to sweeten-it up. Sipping it throughout the day can help increase the metabolism, fat burning, and weight loss.
Lemon-water may be incredibly simple, all you do is mix the juice of a lemon into a glass of water, but it offers a ton of benefits, including the ability to raise the metabolism and burn fat. Whip-up some in a large water bottle and sip on it throughout the day for the best effects. Not only will you stay hydrated, which keeps the metabolism burning at its max, but as lemons contain flavonoids with potent antioxidant properties, it will help protect your cells from damage.
Lemon-water also helps to aid digestion, helping the body to better absorb nutrients from other foods and it aids in regulating insulin spikes.
Vegetable-juice, particularly the fresh juice of veggies like kale, Swiss chard, spinach, broccoli and other green leafy types, are a great way to flush the toxins out of your system to support weight-loss and a faster metabolism. Vegetables that are packed with potassium are especially good for flushing out sodium that keeps the belly bloated.
One great trick for weight-loss involving vegetable juice is to drink a big glass just before a meal. Similar to drinking water before eating a meal, it’s likely to help reduce the total of calories you consume by making you feel fuller-faster.

HOW TO BURN FAT FASTER? (Without Dieting)
Why do some people eat a lot but never gain weight? 'Metabolism' is the reason why they can eat everything without gaining weight, while others eat less and still gain weight.
WHAT IS METABOLISM?
Metabolism is the process by which food is broken down to release energy. Your metabolic rate reflects how much energy your body requires to carry out its basic functions like breathing, eating, sleeping, digesting food and more.
If your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is high, you burn more calories, even while resting.
Your metabolism is determined by multiple factors, including genetics, age, gender, thyroid problems and hormone levels. Women have a slower metabolism than men because women naturally have a higher body fat percentage.
LIFESTYLE RELATED REASONS FOR SLOW METABOLISM:
- Lack of exercise
- Low muscle mass
- Irregular eating habits
- Eating too much fat
- Crash dieting
- Protein deficiency
- Too much alcohol
- Stress and lack of sleep
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR METABOLISM?
'Increasing the metabolism' is the holy grail of weight watchers. It is a quick, safe, healthy, natural and effective way to permanent fat loss. Here's how you can do it:
(1) Start Weight Training
- BMR is much higher in people with more muscle.
- The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn even when you are at rest.
- Every pound of muscle uses about 6 calories a day, just to sustain itself, while each pound of fat burns only 2 calories.
- So start lifting weights and build muscles in order to improve your metabolism.
(2) Add HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to Weight Training
- Do 30 minutes Run-Walk workout: Walk for 2 minutes then run for 1 minute. Keep doing this for 30 minutes.
- Some other HIIT activities are sprint intervals, treadmill intervals, kick boxing, jump rope, resistance sprints, football and tennis.
- HIIT burns more calories in short period of time and improves your BMR.
(3) Eat Every 2-3 Hours
- Each time you eat, you stimulate your metabolism for a short period of time, which means that the more often you eat, the more you will increase your metabolism.
- Eating small meals every 2 to 3 hours feeds muscle and burns fat.
- Frequent eating doesn't mean eating junk food.
- Make each mini-meal complete with a serving of vegetables and a healthy source of protein.
(4) Eat More Protein
- Include healthy sources of protein in your meals such as lentils (Indian dal), whey protein, spinach (palak), chickpeas (channa), kidney beans (rajma), broccoli, cheese, paneer, soybeans, yogurt, milk, lean beef, turkey, fish and egg whites.
- It helps you build muscles.
(5) Eat Metabolism Boosters
- Eat a tablespoon of chili and pepper in your food to increase your metabolism.
- Add ginger in food to speed up the body's digestion process.
- Have a green tea 3-5 times a day. It can burn up to 80 extra calories without any effort.
WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID?
(1) Crash Dieting
The worst thing you can do to your metabolism is 'starve yourself'. Although crash diets may help you lose weight, but you will lose muscles mass as well. The lower your muscle mass, the slower your metabolism.
(2) Late Night Eating
When you sleep, your metabolism slows down because your body doesn't need energy. It turns any unneeded food into fat.
(3) Too much cardio
It will actually burn your muscle tissues. A better way to boost metabolism through exercise is to start a strength-training routine along with cardio.
I have tried to put forward this super complicated subject in a simple way, still if you have any further query, leave me a comment below. I will see you again next Saturday with a new article. Stay Wow..!!

** 6 Great Ways to Boost Your Metabolism Naturally & 3 Habits to Avoid **
When it comes to boosting your metabolism naturally, there are a few different factors we need to look at. So in this video, you’re going to discover both the best ways to increase your metabolism along with the things to avoid that will decrease it.
The Best Ways to Boost Your Metabolism Naturally (0:40)
#1 Lifting/ High Intensity Interval Training
This is one of the best ways to boost your metabolism because of the long-term effects after one training session. As you’ll discover, by combining strength training with some cardio like in metabolic resistance training, you can give your body a metabolic boost for up to 24-48 hours after one workout.
Discover this free 24-minute workout that will get you amazing metabolic boosting effects:
#2 Eating a Higher Protein Diet (1:38)
As you’ll discover, protein actually forces our body to ramp up it’s metabolic rate in order to digest this macronutrient, more so than fats or carbs. So, by including a slightly higher protein intake in your diet, you can reap those benefits daily.
#3 Caffeine (2:42)
Similar to the natural effects of protein on your metabolic rate, caffeine won’t dramatically increase your metabolism, but it will have slight boosting effects. There’s also sufficient research showing the beneficial weight loss effects of black coffee overall, so it can be a good thing to include in moderation.
#4 Green Tea (3:53)
In addition to containing caffeine, green tea contains unique antioxidants called EGCG’s which have shown to increase fat burning. There are also a ton of other health benefits associated with drinking green tea daily, so we highly recommend working this drink into your diet for overall wellness.
Our recommended brand: NUMI- Gunpowder Green Tea
#5 Hot Spices (4:45)
Hot foods contain what’s known as Capsaicin, which has shown to boost our metabolism, reduce fat tissue and curb our appetites.
#6 Using Short Fasts (5:26)
Contrary to what we used to believe, implementing the occasional fasting period can have some dramatic effects when it comes to boosting our metabolism. As you’ll discover, there are several different fasting schedules that work and we cover them more in-depth in the video linked below.
The Top Metabolic Killers to Avoid (6:53)
#1 Getting Poor Sleep
If you're not getting close to an average of 7 hours of sleep per night, both your metabolic rate and fat loss potential are going to dramatically suffer.
#2 Doing Long Fasts (8:00)
While short fasts can be effective, if you go too long (more than a week or so) your body will go into a preservation mode and decrease your metabolic rate.
#3 Chronic Dieting (8:39)
Similar to what happens during a long fast, maintaining a very low calorie diet for too long will cause your body to become resistant to it and lower your metabolic rate to adjust to the lower intake.
Hopefully, this gave you some helpful strategies on how to boost your metabolism naturally. Again, none of these are any kind of magic pill, overnight fix, but they will get you moving in the right direction towards a faster metabolism.
